Building A Personal Website

February 26, 2025

After reading this post I was inspired to start working on my personal website again. At the time, my personal website was a basic portfolio of links to various small projects that I had done. I think it failed as both a portfolio and a personal expression of my thoughts. Ironically, it was hosted in a single folder called blog but with not posts it isn't much of a blog.

I plan to write more often. I think about a lot of things but since I never write any of it down, I think my thoughts are wasted. I want to practice being a better communicator and a blog is the perfect place to do it. I also want to get into the habit of documenting my thoughts and documenting problems that I have had to solve in the past so that I don't have to resolve them in the future.

Although there are pratical benefits to writing here, I also want my site to be a place of experimentation. I want to use this space as playground. At the time of writing, I am editing by typing HTML directly, but it would be fun to build a static site generator. I didn't want to fall into the trap of trying to build a blogging tool, but never writing anything so I started with HTML.

With any luck, this won't be the last post I write.
